FUND-RAISERS are being urged to saddle up, take in the scenery and make plenty of cash for a Vale charity this weekend.

The popular annual Blossom Trail Bikeaway returns on Sunday (April 15) with all proceeds going to the Pershore Division of the St John Ambulance Brigade.

The sponsored bike ride starts at Raphael's Restaurant at Hampton Ferry in Boat Lane, Evesham and the routes then follow the famous Vale of Evesham Spring Blossom Trail.

The Bikeaway, now in its 16th year, has grown in popularity over the years and all the money raised will help St John Ambulance provide voluntary first aid support at numerous events.

On the day there is a choice of four routes - 11, 16, 27 and 50 miles - something for everyone.

Organiser Angela Tidmarsh said it was an ideal opportunity for families to enjoy a day out and see some of the finest countryside in England.

"The Blossom Trail Bikeaway is a major event in the Divisions’ diary and we are thrilled that so many people get so much pleasure from cycling around the Vale countryside – we are also delighted to be holding our event once again at Hampton Ferry," she said.

"Please join us for a real family day out."
