BADSEY RANGERS U11s found life hard on their return to action after a lengthy period without a game as they suffered a 3-0 defeat at home to Pershore Town.
Pershore almost broke the deadlock on three occasions but Rangers keeper Adam Ballard dealt with all three attempts, with the third save particularly impressive.
At the other end a long throw in from Owain Hann to Marco Bille looked like it might reap dividends, but Pershore's defence held firm.
Keeper Ballard was soon in action again, with Pershore winning three consecutive corners, the third of which they scored from just before half time.
After the break, Badsey's defence were again having to work hard as Pershore kept up the pressure and Ballard made another great stop, but was unable to gather the ball, enabling Pershore to score a scrappy second goal.
Undeterred, Rangers made several forays into Pershore's half, with Hann, Bille and Ryan Keyte - fed by midfielders Matt Child, Josh Sellick and John Barradell - all having shots saved by the Pershore keeper.
Further shots at goal came from Ryan Keyte and Bille, but it was not to be Badsey's day and, despite strong defence from man of the match Michael Merry, Pershore were able to score their third of the day.
