Leaders' loss sees title race hot up

THE BIRDSEYE Sports Evesham Sunday League Division One title race was blown wide open as Pinvin United defeated leaders Black Bear 3-2 in a pulsating game at Northway.

Black Bear scored through Hutchins and Driscoll but goals from Izod, Bellamy and Bulford earned Pinvin the points.

Bretforton Old Boys moved to the top on goal difference as goals from Clarke and Wallace defeated visitors Broadway United 2-0, whilst Lee Brookes was on target for Honeybourne Gate Inn in their 2-1 home win over Golden Cross.

Doubles from Lee Miller and Malone helped Eckington consolidate second place in Division Two with a 5-1 victory at Offenham Rovers and Fladbury Athletic are third after goals from Chris Clements (3), Andy Clements and Nightingale proved enough to defeat visitors Stour Excelsior - for whom Pratt and Harris scored - 5-2.
