AN INTERNET sensation who reached the top four in the UK Singles chart last year is set to make a special appearance in Evesham next month.

Alex Day, who has racked up more than a million views on YouTube, became the first ever unsigned musician to have an official top ten hit in December with his single Forever Yours.

The Essex born star will meet fans at Rapture Entertainment store based in the Riverside Shopping Centre as well as be signing copies of his brand new single on Thursday, April 5 starting from midday.

Mr Day has now been signed by record label giants Universal Music and his appearance comes on the same week when his next single Lady Godiva - a cover of the 1966 Peter and Gordon song - is available to buy and download.

Forever Yours sold more than a million copies worldwide and was a contender to be last year's Christmas Number One record.

The video for the track has had nearly more than four million views on YouTube and proceeds from each sale went to World Vision an organisation against child poverty.

Before his Christmas single success, Mr Day starred in BBC reality television show Chartjackers and BBC Three talent show Upstaged.

Natalie Boyles, store manager at Rapture Entertainment, said she was looking forward to meeting the YouTube star and his appearance will mark the celebrations for the store's sixth birthday after opening in April 2006.

"Alex is a big internet star and has a big following on YouTube and Twitter," she told the Observer. "It's going to be a really good day and we're hoping to have a couple of hundred people come to the store."

For more information call the store on 01386 760302.
