A YOUNG woman whose father died of cancer is hoping to give something back to the charity who cared for him by organising a fashion show.
Sarah Patrick, 21, from Evesham is a shop volunteer at St Richard's Hospice and has arranged for her friends and colleagues to model charity shop clothes on the catwalk .
The show takes place on Friday, March 16 at Evesham Town Hall and Sarah has chosen outfits donated to the charity's clothes shops reflecting the four elements - earth, fire, air and water.
After the catwalk show the donated items will be available to buy. There will also be live music and a licensed bar and throughout the evening.
Sarah said she was looking forward to helping out the charity who are very close to her and her family's heart.
"My Dad was looked after at St Richard's Hospice when he was first diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and we were supported as a family so that he was able to be looked after at home," she said. "They did a wonderful job and this is my way of giving something back to them.
"We are very grateful for the support we all received and this has inspired me to raise money for St Richard's. I'm hoping this fashion event will show people that fashionable items can be found in charity shops."
Prior to the event the model's hair will be styled by stylists from Muse Creative Hair of Broadway and beauty salon staff from Beaumonde in Evesham will do their make-up. The hall on the day will be decorated with flowers provided by Jenny Curry Flowers of Evesham.
St Richard's Hospice provides free care for patients living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and their families.
