RESCUE cats will be the star attraction at an animal charity’s rehoming show tomorrow (Saturday).

Cats Protection’s Worcester and District branch has organised its second show in a bid to find homes for more than 15 cats.

The event will double up as a recruitment day where potential volunteers can find out more about the charity.

Fran Holder, manager of the branch shops in Worcester and Pershore, said: "In total, 18 cats and kittens were rehomed at our first show last year, and we raised £445 for the branch too, which is a fantastic sum.

"We have many lovely cats in care – some have been with us for many months – and they are in need of a fresh start, especially before the spring kittens arrive.

"We don’t have a rescue shelter as all the cats are with foster parents across the county, so it’s a great way to show them off to the public.

“We are sure that once people have met them they will want to offer them a good home.”

The event takes place between 11am and 3pm at the Scout Hut, Cornmeadow Lane, Claines, Worcester.

The cats will only be available for viewing between 11am to 1pm.

There will be refreshments served throughout the day, stalls with cat merchandise, Cats Protection memorabilia, calendars and games to entertain visitors.

Miss Holder added: "This is also an opportunity to come and talk to our volunteers and Cats Protection staff about the work that the branch does.

"There are many voluntary roles that we need help with – hopefully people will be interested in joining us and help the cats in the area.

"We really want people to come and support us and make the day a success.

"You never know, you may meet your perfect companion."
