A VALE mum is hosting a special fund-raising event in a bid to save an Evesham charity who helped look after her disabled daughter.

Krystyna Cave, from Badsey, has set up a Zumbathon fitness event as a way of saying a big thank you to the Avonvale Playgroup charity and hopes to raise as much funds as possible to help keep the charity alive.

The charity, based at Evesham Adventure Playground, is in desperate need for funds after a vital source of funding from Worcestershire PTC was stopped because of Government cutbacks and could close down if running costs cannot be raised.

The event takes place at Evesham High School on Friday, February 10 starting at 6pm and Mrs Cave is hoping many will attend to boost their fitness and help save a worthwhile charity from closure at the same time.

"Setting up this evening is my way of saying a big thank you to the Avonvale Playgroup for looking after my daughter," Krystyna told the Observer.

"They have done a wonderful job in the community for the past forty years and it would be a huge loss if it closed down."

Tickets cost £7 adults and £5 for children. There will also be a raffle to help boost the fund-raising total.

For more information about the event call Krystyna on 07711 369384 or for sponsor forms email kryscave@live.co.uk.
